Agriculture and food science

In a region where agriculture and food production contribute significantly to value creation, the Department of Agricultural Economics and Food Sciences at Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences is active at the interface between academic teaching, research and practice.

The university bundles its expertise and activities for the entire chain of production and processing of food and renewable raw materials in a competence field of the same name. The associated ecological, social and economic issues and the development of rural areas are also considered in this context.

With its focus on practice-orientated research and development issues in this field, Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences has long been a competent partner for agricultural companies, institutions and politics in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Health, prevention, care and health management

Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, with its long coastline, many lakes and forests, rightly profiles itself as a "health state". At the same time, the problems of an ageing population present us with new challenges. Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences is addressing these issues with an independent field of expertise entitled "Health, Prevention, Care and Health Management". The focus is on prevention and health promotion, public health, health system research, nursing, rehabilitation, nursing management, health and care management.

Landscape sciences and geomatics

The competence field of landscape sciences and geomatics includes environmental, regional and urban planning under anthropogenic and ecological conditions as well as the sustainable development and design of rural areas and regions, including historical gardens, as well as the recording and processing of spatial and object-related data with a focus on the application area of geoinformation and engineering, natural and environmental sciences.

Social work, education and upbringing

With a particular focus on practical application, we dedicate ourselves to current social tasks in the field of social work, education and upbringing. The topics are research and teaching for the practical fields of education outside the classroom, socio-educational counselling and intervention as well as the management of social institutions.
